The Khandaghosh ICDS Project refers to the implementation of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in the Khandaghosh region, located in the Purba Bardhaman district of West Bengal, India. It plays a critical role in improving the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of children under six years, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. This initiative aligns with the government’s mission to foster early childhood care and development in rural communities.
  • 1. Combat Malnutrition: Address malnutrition and its associated health risks among children and women.
  • 2. Promote Early Childhood Development: Provide pre-school education and cognitive stimulation for children aged 3–6 years.
  • 3. Enhance Maternal and Child Health: Improve maternal health and reduce infant and maternal mortality through health services and nutritional support.
  • 4. Empower Communities: Educate mothers and caregivers about nutrition, health, and hygiene.
  • The project operates through an extensive network of 283 Nos Anganwadi Centers managed by dedicated Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and helpers (AWHs). These centers serve as a bridge between the community and essential services, ensuring outreach to even the most remote areas and have significantly contributed to-
    1. Reducing malnutrition and improving child growth rates.

    Mission Saksham Anganwadi

    Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, launched in 2021 by the Government of India, aim to enhance nutrition and health for children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. Under the Khandaghosh ICDS project, 48 Saksham Anganwadi Centers are dedicated to fostering holistic growth and well-being. Together, we strive to build a healthier and stronger community.

    Shishu Aloy

    Under the Khandaghosh ICDS project, 78 Shishu Aloy centers serve as hubs of pedagogical innovation, empowering communities to create centers of excellence.     Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS)

    The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme under the Khandaghosh project provides essential health, nutrition, and pre-school education to children under 6 years and supports adolescent girl aged 14-18 years. With 283 Anganwadi Centers, it ensures holistic development and welfare for the community.

    SAG-KP Convergence Program

    handaghosh ICDS project aims to empower adolescent girls (ages 11-18), both in school and out of school, through self-development, health, and nutrition improvements through SAG-KP Program. The program also focuses on enhancing life skills, promoting awareness of reproductive health, and guiding girls towards mainstream education and public services.

    Annaprashan Divas

    Annaprashan Divas is a significant occasion celebrated at the Anganwadi Centers (AWC) under the Khandaghosh ICDS project to promote the importance of nutrition in a child's early years.
